Coast Road speed limit to be cut to 80km/h after crashes

THE speed limit on part of The Coast Road at Lennox Head will be reduced following a review by Roads and Maritime Services.

RMS reviewed the existing 100km/h speed limit past the Ross Lane intersection and determined the existing speed limit of 80km/h on The Coast Rd will be extended from one kilometre north of Byron St to 200 metres north of Ross Lane.

The review comes after 13 serious crashes in five years on the notorious stretch of The Coast Rd, including one fatality.
