Claims of a Coalition ‘cover-up’ over power report

LABOR has called for an investigation into claims of government interference, after an investment bank edited a report into the impacts of the Coalition's electricity privatisation plan.

UBS released a report on Tuesday titled Bad for the Budget, Good for the State.

By the end of the day, the title was changed to Good for the State, and the content altered to be more favourable to the scheme.

It later emerged Premier Mike Baird's office had called UBS before the amendment went public.

Mr Baird denied the phone call had any impact on the changes - a statement backed up by UBS.

"The analyst then reviewed publicly available information about the investment proceeds and reissued his research based on his own views," a spokeswoman told Fairfax.

Shadow Treasurer Mich-ael Daley has called for the corporate watchdog to probe what he called the "cover-up".
