Celebrate National Volunteer Week by adopting a new friend

IN celebration of National Volunteer Week, Northern Rivers Animal Services are thanking its volunteers and carers, and giving potential pet owners a chance to adopt a new friend.

It is due to their volunteers hard work and dedication that the organisation is still able to care for the abandoned, abused, lost and unwanted dogs and cats in this region, NRAS Vice President, Michela Brown said.

"Now is a great time for people to reflect on how they can give back to their community by becoming a volunteer," Ms Brown said.

"Northern Rivers Animal Services is always looking for animal carers prepared to provide temporary housing, shelter and comfort for our animals before they are ready or able to find a new family".

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer for Northern Rivers Animal Services should call 6681 1860 or email  nras@live.com.au

The week-long celebrations of National Volunteer Week will culminate in Northern Rivers Animal Services hosting an Adoption Day at Petstock, Ballina on Saturday May 16 from 10am-2pm.
