All the glamour of the Cannes film and fashion festival

CANNES Film festival for my money is a far more stylish red carpet event than say, the Oscars.

Perhaps because it's set in Europe, it's less Hollywood and more haute couture.

There were several standouts, including the photo of 'our Nicole' that went everywhere.

While I thought she looked great, I thought there were some better looks that walked the plush crimson pile so far at the event.

For instance, how good does Aussie Jessica Hart look?

So good, I was harassing Weekend editor, Suni to run one of her photos as the cover.

There's a reason why this stunning young woman is the latest model darling from Down Under.

Other looks that stood out for me were model Alessandra Ambrosio in her gold, classic awards-style dress, and of course Sharon Stone still rocking the red carpet, this time in red.

But for sheer fashion, I loved the haute couture, albeit with a twist, from Bianca Balti's funky gem-themed look.
