BUILDER Jesse Zielke wants to inspire Bundaberg businesses to be bold.

After the opening of the JRZ Display Home at the Belle Eden Estate on Saturday, company founder Mr Zielke said the project was a show of confidence in the local economy.

"It's important builders like myself have the confidence to invest money into things like this," he said

"Businesses need to lead by example.

"I'm excited - hopefully it's going to create more work for us and in turn, (boost) the local economy."

The day was a success, he said, with between 150 and 200 people through the door.

The event raised $1000 for charity Red Collar Rescue.

"We got a lot of positive feedback, kids were on the jumping castle, everyone was enjoying themselves."

Mayor Jack Dempsey, Bundaberg MP Leanne Donaldson and local councillors attended and admired one unique feature at the back of the house, the "community wall".

The colourful street art was created by a group of youths previously charged with graffiti in Bundaberg, in a workshop organised by community group Impact and under the guidance of local artist Jaime Kirby.

The idea sprang from a graffiti attack on a JRZ sign.

"These kids just need better guidance in life," Mr Zielke said.

"They absolutely loved it and now they can show their friends and family what they've done.

"Local councillors are all keen to see more of it around town."

The JRZ Display home is open seven days from 10am-4pm.
