Brothers 3, Dean Ray and Marlisa make X Factor Top 3

BROTHERS 3 are jumping for joy after making it to The X Factor's Top 3.

The sibling trio was tipped to get the chop in tonight's live elimination show, but were the first act announced as safe by host Luke Jacobz.

"We'd given up, so it was the most unexpected thing of all time," Makirum Fahey-Leigh told APN.

"I honestly can't believe it. You look at Reigan, Marlisa and Dean, they're the most talented people I've seen ever.

"That's what X Factor does, it gathers a bunch of insanely talented people."

Sixteen-year-old Marikum, the youngest of the three brothers from Mudgee, said the reality of making it to the reality singing show's grand final has yet to sink in.

"It hasn't hit me yet; they're just words at the moment," he said.

"I don't know if I'm going to sleep tonight."

Fresh-faced 15-year-old Marlisa Punzalan found herself in the bottom two for the first time with Australian Idol alumni Reigan Derry.

Derry was sent home after the deadlocked judging panel sent the decider to the public vote.

"I really feel like you've changed me and made me into a stronger person," the outgoing Derry said to her mentor.

Redfoo will be the only coach sitting through Sunday and next Monday's grand final shows without an artist.

"Reigan is the best artist I've ever worked with in my life," he said.

"I just don't understand how this could happen.

"I feel crazy right now."

Travelling musician and former Chinchilla local Dean Ray rounds out the Top 3. Online betting website SportsBet already has Ray as the favourite to take out the 2014 title.

Taylor Swift, Olly Murs, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy will all perform in The X Factor grand final.
