MOURNING has already begun as the final episode of acclaimed TV series Breaking Bad begins to air around the world.
The show has shot to the top of Twitter's worldwide trends as fans prepare for the epic conclusion, titled Felina, to air in the US.
It starts on America's east coast in less than an hour on the AMC channel.
Variety is reporting that finale watching parties are "sweeping" the US with hardcore fans donning hazmat suits and creating blue rock candy treats.
Fans in Australia are faced with the dilemma of either ignoring all social media to avoid spoilers before the show airs tonight on Foxtel, or reading up on what happens to central characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
Over five seasons, the show has followed White's downward spiral, following his diagnosis with lung cancer, from high school chemistry teacher to manufacturer of the world's purest crystal meth.
The show is already one of the world's most pirated TV shows and today's series-ending conclusion will almost certainly be no exception.
A spin-off TV series, about White's lawyer Saul Goodman, has already been announced.
The Breaking Bad series final airs today at 6.30pm on Showcase.
