Break down: Ferry to be closed for hours

THE South Ballina ferry is currently not running, Ballina Shire Council has confirmed.

Council advised the public that due to a mechanical failure, the ferry that travels from West Ballina to South Ballina was not operational currently.

It is estimated that the repair time will be approximately five hours, with the ferry operational again from 4pm this afternoon.

Ballina Shire Council will advise once the ferry is operational again, and thanked customers for their patience.
