Police recover body found at Clarrie Hall Dam

POLICE searching Clarrie Hall Dam for missing Nimbin kayaker John Barrett have confirmed a body of a man has been found.

The body was recovered from the dam earlier today but police have not confirmed it is Mr Barrett until the body is formally identified.

Mr Barrett, 76, was reported missing by a family member last Friday after he failed to return from a kayaking trip to the dam last Thursday.

Police divers were brought in on Monday to search for Mr Barrett after land, air and boat searches over the weekend failed to find him.
