Blues end losing run
THE Blues snapped a seven-match losing streak with an 25-3 triumph over the Lions at Eden Park.
The home side, who have endured a horror season after making the semi-finals last year, scored three tries to nil with Michael Hobbs, Alby Mathewson and captain Luke Braid finding their way to the stripe.
In a week when the Blues franchise advertised coach Pat Lam's job, the side chalked up just their second win of the season.
The victory moved them two points clear of the Lions, who have now suffered nine losses since they won their opening round match against the Cheetahs in February.
Braid says the win was not pretty, but the relief at not losing was satisfaction enough.
