QUEENSLAND MP Billy Gordon has fired a blistering salvo at Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg, describing him as a "political grub" with an "ugly drive to become Queensland premier".

The deposed Labor party member and now independent Member for Cook has alleged the Opposition Leader publicly disseminated confidential information about Mr Gordon's children and has called for an independent investigation by the police, parliament and the Child Support Agency.

Mr Gordon left the Labor party following the first parliamentary sitting week of the newly elected Palaszczuk Government last month, after the emergence of allegations of domestic violence, unpaid child support and an undisclosed criminal history.

Mr Gordon accused Mr Springborg of using his two children as political pawns.

"I condemn the gutter tactics of Lawrence Springborg, who has disseminated confidential information about my two young children for political gain," Mr Gordon said.
