Big Bang geek models Google Glass on Emmys red carpet

FORGET the frocks and killer heels, the latest thing to hit the Emmys red carpet is Google Glass.

Kunal Nayyar, star of The BIg Bang Theory, modelled the high-tech eyewear on the red carpet of the annual awards recognising the best in American TV.

Nayyar, who plays girl-shy Raj Koothrappali on the popular US sitcom, showed off the wearable computer, which is not yet available to the public.

The glasses display information like a smartphone and allow the user to communicate over the internet by voice commands.

Whlie he has yet to tweet any photos taken with the glasses, Nayyar did tweet: "Emmy weekend! Let's goooooooooooooooo".

The Big Bang Theory is up for for awards including Outstanding Comedy Series.
