THE woman who has made assault allegations against Queensland State of Origin player Ben Te'o has given a statement to Queensland police.

Katie Lewis, 22, visited Ferny Grove police station in Brisbane's north-west on Wednesday morning, where she spent four hours giving a statement to detectives.

It is understood Ms Lewis was also ordered to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon over an unrelated bail act warrant.

It is unlikely police will interview Te'o over the incident before gathering further evidence in the form of medical reports and phone records.

The NRL's recently established integrity unit grilled Te'o for hours last Thursday over Ms Lewis' allegations he punched her in the face, fracturing her eye socket.
