Ballina proposes rate rises to pay for pool renovations

BALLINA Shire Council is proposing to increase rates by an additional 2.5% in 2015-16 and 2016-17 to fund renovations to the Ballina and Alstonville swimming pools.

To discuss the proposal, public meetings will be held at the Lennox Head Cultural and Community Centre on October 7 at 7pm; the Alstonville Leisure and Entertainment Centre on October 8 at 7pm; and the Ballina Shire Council Chambers on October 9 at 7pm.

Submissions will close on October 31 and can be made by emailing poolsproposal@ballina.nsw.gov.au.
