THE foster brother of slain Logan schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer allegedly sexually abused another underage girl, Brisbane Supreme Court has heard.
Trent Jordan Thorburn, 19, is accused of sexually abusing his 12-year-old foster sister who was then allegedly murdered by her foster father Rick Thorburn.
Supreme Court Justice John Bond accepted a statement on Wednesday a statement by a Crown witness alleging the younger Thorburn had abused another young female.
The 19-year-old dancing fanatic faces one charge of incest allegedly committed against Tia in the months before she died.
He also faces charges of perjury and attempt to pervert the course of justice.
The charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and perjury stem from lies he allegedly told under oath to "cover up” his family's alleged involvement in Tia's death. He was giving evidence at secret Crime and Corruption Commission hearings into Tia's murder in June and July.
In rejecting the bail application, Justice Bond said there was a high risk the defendant would fail to appear and that he could also interfere with witnesses.
Justice Bond also noted that if released, Trent Thorburn faced being attacked by outraged community members.
Tia's mother Cindy Palmer said she was happy the bail application was denied.
"It's quite raw - I still get upset every time I hear something (in court),” Ms Palmer said.
"I'm just lucky I have support because it's just not going to get any easier.”
Tiahleigh's body was found on the banks of the Pimpama River about a week after she went missing in October, 2015.
Police arrested and charged Trent, his father Rick, mother Julene and brother Joshua in September.
Rick Thorburn is charged with murder and is not on bail.
Julene and Joshua Thorburn are on bail and have been charged with perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice. - ARM NEWSDESK
