Australian reps get green light for junior bowls tournament

AUSTRALIAN representative players Brett Wilkie and Mark Casey will play at Ballina RSL's Canal Road junior tournament on the Wednesday with four juniors.   The pair's appearance had been in doubt after problems with Bowls NSW over payment of the reps at the tournament. However, these issues have been resolved.

Their event will be a junior-senior social day. The tournament, in singles and pairs, will run from next Monday to Friday. The two stars of the game will hold a coaching clinic later in the day they play.

Hard-working tournament manager Greg Danvers has arranged a $3180 prize pool.
