Aussie rapper Illy confirms plans for free gig at Lennox

AUSTRALIAN rapper Illy has confirmed a 'free to all ages' gig in Lennox Head for Sunday, November 16.

To have access to the gig, Illy's fans must sign up here (

Illy, whose real name is Al Murray, posted a message to his fans this morning on social media confirming the details.

"I picked your town out of hundreds of entries from all around the country as the winner of a free all ages gig in mid-November. Lucky you.

"Here's the deal - Sunday 16th November at the Lennox Hotel in Lennox Head.

"It's a day time show (hoping the sun is shining!) and doors open at 2pm sharp. It's free entry and all ages, however anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

"To get on the guest list for the show, go to and enter your details.

"The gig is very limited capacity, so it's first in best dressed on the day IE being on the guest list means you CAN get in, but not that you WILL get in. So get there early!"

The 'Illy One for the City' competition asked Illy's fan to take a picture of their hometown and post it on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

Using the name of his latest single, One For The City, Illy asked fans via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to post a picture of the best part of their hometown and tell him why in 25 words or less, why he should play their hometown.

Lennox Head's Nick Lohman submitted an image of the Lennox Head beach at sunset and was named the winner.

The concert will be Illy's comeback to the Northern Rivers after a triumphant headliner performance at Splendour in the Grass 2014 last July.
