Assault call leads to major drug bust

AN ASSAULT in the Blue Mountains has led police to seizing 80 cannabis plants.

Josip Polger, 34, was arrested and charged after police were called about a 69-year-old woman being attacked on Saturday night.

When police attended a house in North Katoomba about 30 minutes later, officers will allege they found the plants and a hydroponics set up used to grow and care for them.

Mr Polger was charged with assault, malicious damage, intimidation and other charges related to growing drugs.He was expected to face court yesterday.
