Villa steps up

ALSTONVILLE Football Club is holding a light training session and barbeque at 5pm this Sunday, January 18, for players interested in joining the Villa senior squad for the 2009 season.

Club president Todd Westgate said all current and potential new players were invited to come along and meet coach Mark Ambler at Crawford Park at 5pm.

"This coming year is about lifting Villa to a new level with the appointment of Mark as Premier coach," Mr Westgate said.

"Villa has been promoted to the 2009 Football Far North Coast Premier League after a fantastic effort in last year's first division competition. We are excited about the new season."

Villa training will start on Tuesday, January 20, from 6pm to 8pm and will be held each Tuesday and Thursday from then.
