Tennis tournament on soon

THE Ballina Tennis Club's annual New Year Tournament will be held on January 8-11.

This tournament attracts top players and thanks to the sponsorship of the Ballina Bowling and Recreation Club, the tournament is growing in status each year. Members are reminded to collect an entry form from the clubhouse or remember the date to come along enjoy some great tennis. Meanwhile, the club has gained about 40 new members this year.

Many of the club's members are aged over 70 - the club has members aged 8 to 80.

And the club has honored six members with life memberships over the past three years for their contribution to the club and all are still to be seen regularly on the courts. Coach Nathan Whitty will again be conducting holiday tennis camps and can be contacted for details. Details of all club events are at the clubhouse and the Ballna Bowling and Recreation Club. Members are reminded that the annual Christmas function is on Sunday December 7, commencing at 4pm. Phone Anne Marchment on 6686 9079 for more information.
