Tasty deal backs X-ray fundraiser

ONE of Ballina's newest businesses has found a delicious way to support the appeal to raise money for new X-ray equipment at Ballina District Hospital.

Owners of Totally Tasty in Ballina Fair, Gary and Vicki Stenzel, have put on a big deal for a big breakfast, with $2 from every one sold going to the Ballina Shire Healthy Community Futures' Fund.

The big breakfast, which the pair is launching today, March 1, is made up of bacon, eggs, tomatoes, sausages, hash browns and toast, and usually costs $8.90.

From today until Sunday, March 4, you can buy the breakfast for $3, if you donate $2 to their collection for the Ballina Shire Healthy Community Futures' Fund.

The fund's first project is to raise $150,000 to buy Computerised Radiography (CR) equipment to be added to new X-ray equipment. The CR will turn X-rays into a digital image so they can be seen throughout the North Coast Area Health Service network almost immediately.

Gary and Vicki opened the business 10 weeks ago, but they have lived locally for the past nine years.

Breakfast is served at Totally Tasty between 7am and 10am. Other donations can be made to the fund at the Ballina branch of the National Australia Bank.
