Debaters in State final
THE Southern Cross School K-12 primary debating team has made it to the State final of the Premier's Debating Challenge.
The four local students in the team Nikki Saunders, Mathew Johnson, Grace Armstrong and Ivan Constable will argue it out for the top primary school debating spot in NSW in November.
The team has had to win six debates to get to this point. The last one was held on Tuesday at South Grafton, with the topic 'Beauty pageants are a disgrace'.
The adjudicators said both teams displayed excellent general knowledge, rebuttal and presentation skills, adding that debating on the North Coast is of a very high standard.
