Anti-IS campaign boosts Abbott's approval rating
PRIME Minister Tony Abbott's campaign against the Islamic State and recent terror raids seem to have bolstered voter support for the Coalition.
A poll released on Tuesday in The Australian found support for the government rose to its highest level since before the budget last week.
While the rise was only two points, up from 39% to 41%, Labor lost one point, down to 34%.
And while The Greens' support two weeks ago rose to record levels, at 14%, support for the minor party, which has voiced concerns about national security reforms, fell to 11%.
On the two-party-preferred stakes, Labor still retains a two-point lead over the Coalition at 51% compared to 49%.
