Animations giving kids life lessons

LENNOX Head children will be among the first in Australia to enjoy cutting-edge health and safety programs hot off animators' computers.

Far North Coast educator Amanda Dumesny said the Life Education programs featured dynamic 3D animation of the health mascot Healthy Harold and his friends and storylines to engage modern students in health, safety and drug education.

"Our young audiences have high expectations and we also have new free apps and games for tablets, interactive online activities and support materials for students, parents and teachers," she said.

The programs were informed by the best available evidence about school drug education and children's health and were aligned with the new Australian and NSW curriculums.

However Life Education is a not-for-profit charity and Tonny van't Riet from the local action group said there was a desperate need for more local support and fundraising.
