North Coast's dark agression towards ambulance officers

OUT OF the more than 50 reported incidents of physical and verbal assaults on paramedics in NSW so far this year, at least six were on the North Coast. Many more are believed to go unreported.

January 12, Mullumbimby - A patient being transported on a spinal board allegedly scratched and attempted to bite an attending paramedic.

February 4, Port Macquarie - Paramedic allegedly struck by a patient while having their temperature taken.

February 4, Grafton - Patient allegedly slapped and punched a paramedic, smashing his glasses.

February 9, Port Macquarie - Paramedics were preparing to transport a patient when the patient allegedly punched and threw a phone at one of them

February 24, Kingscliff - Patient who had collapsed allegedly swung a chair at attending paramedics then continued to hit the ambulance and verbally abuse them.
