Algal alert for Lennox lake lifted

THE recent outbreak of blue-green algae reported in Lake Ainsworth at Lennox Head has dissipated.

North Coast Regional Algal Co-ordinating Committee spokesman Brian Dodd said recent sampling results indicated levels of blue-green algae in Lake Ainsworth had dropped and the algal alert warning had been lifted.

But he said users of the lake were asked to keep an eye out for algae as it could develop in a 24-hour period.
