Brown, Cameron and Mitchell all escape suspensions

LIONS captain Jonathan Brown, GWS forward Jeremy Cameron and Hawthorn midfielder Sam Mitchell have all escaped possible suspensions by the AFL's Match Review Panel.

They were all involved in incidents that were assessed, but all three were cleared of any wrongdoing.

Brown was charged for a hit on Gold Coast's David Swallow, but the MRP ruled that Brown's action was a legitimate attempt to tackle and was not a striking motion.

Cameron's bump on Jason Johannisen was one that garnered most attention as the young Bulldog will miss the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder.

But the MRP ruled "Cameron did not have a realistic alternative way to contest the ball".

Joel Corey was knocked out following his collision with Mitchell but the panel said it was Corey who created the situation by tackling Mitchell and dragging him to the ground.

The Match Review Panel was still kept busy with a number of players offered suspensions.

West Coast's Patrick McGinnity was offered three weeks for a sling tackle on Bernie Vince, Crows ruck/forward Shaun McKernan can accept a two-week ban after a raised elbow hit West Coast's Brad Sheppard high.

Port Adelaide tall Justin Westhoff can also take one week for striking Essendon's Cale Hooker while young GWS onballer Taylor Adams can take a one week ban (with early plea) for striking Bulldogs midfielder Adam Cooney.

Cooney can accept a $900 fine for his involvement in the melee that followed.

Lions midfielder Dayne Zorko has been cited for punching Gold Coast defender Tom Murphy in the groin.

He has been offered a reprimand and 93.75 carryover points.
