IT'S a well-known fact that the Brits are obsessed with our beloved Aussie soap Neighbours, but who knew global superstar Adele was such a fan.

The singer finished up the Australian leg of her tour in Melbourne last night which saw her breaking attendance records left, right and centre for almost all of the stadiums she played at.

And, while Adele would've struggled to find time for things outside of working and touring, she did manage to score a few hours for a visit to the show's set.

Taking to Instagram, the singer revealed she'd headed to Pin Oak Court in the Melbourne suburb of Vermont.

The quaint suburban cul-de-sac goes by the name Ramsay Street on the show.

Adele captioned her shot with the now iconic Neighbours theme song.

Adele's visit to the Neighbours set comes the same day The Mirror revealed the show's future on British TV screens is in jeopardy.

The popular Aussie export, which first aired in Britain 31 years ago, was moved from a prime time slot to Channel 5 in 2008.

"The renegotiation of the Neighbours deal has become very fraught and is in jeopardy," a source told Sunday People.

"The failure to reach a deal is being blamed on Channel 5's new American owners Viacom for refusing to sign off on the figures and not understanding the cultural importance of the show in the UK. Neighbours has become a British TV favourite and it would be a sad day if it were to go."

The popular soap, which broadcast its first season in 1985, has proved to be more popular in the UK than in Australia.
