Aboriginal patrons banned from WA pub

A WESTERN Australian publican is trending on social media after banning indigenous patrons from her hotel following the theft of her phone.

Deborah Ovens, owner of the Denver City Hotel in Coolgardie, posted a notice that no Indigenous person would be served until her Apple iPhone was returned.

A picture of the note had been shared hundreds of times on Facebook by Wednesday, attracting a mixed response.

She told news.com.au that in hindsight, she shouldn't have posted the note but that "you just get so angry when you open up to the community and then you get your property stolen".
