Toowoomba man on attempted murder for bedroom attack
A 59-YEAR-OLD Toowoomba man wanted over an attempted murder near Gympie has appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court.
Robert John Milne, of Wilsonton Heights, is charged with attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, and entering a dwelling with intent with circumstances of aggravation.
A man, 59, from Green Creek, reported on Monday morning that he had been struck on the head with a blunt implement while he was sleeping.
Mr Milne was charged after being located on the Sunshine Coast.
No application was made for bail when he appeared in court yesterday..
He was remanded for committal mention on December 15.
Wide Bay Burnett District acting Inspector David Briese commended police on Mr Milne's arrest.
"I congratulate Gympie detectives for their work and thank Toowoomba and Sunshine Coast detectives for their assistance," he said.
