Thousands rally to mourn dead greyhounds

ANIMAL lovers rallied across Australia yesterday to mourn the thousands of greyhounds that did not make it alive out of the racing industry.

Dressed in black, March for the Murdered Million participants held placards with the names of dead greyhounds and their dates of birth and death as part of the global coordinated day of action against dog racing.

Protests were held in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart, Cairns and Townsville.

Queensland protesters urged the State Government to follow the lead of the New South Wales Government by banning the sport.
