MURDERER Gerard Baden-Clay looked like a broken man.

Tears rolled down his cheeks as he fought to silence visible sobbing.

He had trouble breathing just after the jury delivered its guilty verdict, which followed about 21 hours of deliberation, about 11.50am.

A security guard in the courtroom suggested he might need medical help but Baden-Clay indicated to his lawyers he could continue.

The shaking and sobbing intensified as members of Allison's family spoke about how he had changed the destiny of their three daughters who now live with their maternal grandparents.

There was jubilation and a chorus of "yes" from Allison's family, police and members of the public as the guilty verdict was handed down.

At least two people shouted "no" too, as Baden-Clay's family slumped in their seats.

"We love you mate," one family member said as he was led away to the cells.
