The private hospital received the 2014 Sunshine Coast Project of the Year, while the 2014 Sunshine Coast House of the Year went to DRM Design and Construction for a Mooloolah Island waterfront home.

Located in the emerging Kawana health precinct, the $100 million Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital is Ramsay Health's newest private hospital.

It also won the award for health and education facilities valued at more than $20 million for John Holland.

Containing 160 in-patient beds, seven operating theatres, commercial kitchen, and pharmacy, and built over three levels, the building sets a benchmark in medical facilities in Australia.

The construction team contended with extreme wet weather, flood damage and multiple stakeholders to deliver this flagship build-ing within a two-year program.

The $100 million Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital was named Sunshine Coast Project of the Year.

The waterfront home by DRM Design and Construction also won awards for individual home over $2 million and best kitchen.

The property combined stone, timber, glass and steel to create a home of substance, as well as understated style and elegance.

The judges said the Mooloolah Island home was finished to an exceptional quality of workmanship, inside and out, and maximised the magnificent water views of the Mooloolah River with the communal living spaces, kitchen and master bedroom all with water views.

Immackulate took out the 2014 Sunshine Coast President's Award, and individual home in the $376,000-$475,000 bracket.

Mees Construction won the Alan Eichmann Memorial Award for quality workmanship.

The President's Award is awarded to a home that the average Queenslander could aspire to.

The judges said the custom-designed home reflected a modern Sunshine Coast theme, featuring polished concrete floors, natural colours and raised ceilings, creating a bright, airy feel.

This large family home demonstrates value for money, innovative design and sustainable living.

The spotlight also shone on Christopher R Smith's luxurious Ocean Vista House at Maroochy River, which took home multiple awards including trade contractor (swimming pool), outdoor living and landscaping, individual home $1 million-$2 million, and best bathroom.
