Man stabbed to death at dinner party

A 35-YEAR-old New South Wales man died on Saturday night shortly after he was stabbed several times while hosting a dinner party at his home near the Blue Mountains.

Emergency crews attended the man's Lithgow house about 9.30pm following a fight.

Police said the dead man had invited a group of people to dine at his home and the guests included the alleged assailant.

Officers charged a 27-year-old with murder.

It will be alleged he attacked the victim in front of the other diners.

The man faced Bathurst Local Court yesterday.
