James Packer launches $100 million fund for the arts

CASINO mogul James Packer launched a $100 million "national philanthropic fund" for the arts and indigenous programs on Tuesday.

Mr Packer's Crown Resorts and the Packer Family Foundation launched the new fund in Melbourne, with Gretel Packer saying it would go to the arts and indigenous education.

The fund has already allocated $2.5 million to the Melbourne Theatre Company, to help provide discount tickets to disadvantage Victorians.
