Anti-Sharia Senator Lambie unable to say what Sharia is

DESPITE her vocal opposition to sharia law, Palmer United Party senator Jacquie Lambie yesterday struggled to define what it was.

After Senator Lambie stated during the week sharia law supporters should "pack their bags and get out of here" ABC Insiders host Barrie Cassidy asked her to define what she understood as sharia law, she struggled to explain it.

"Well I think when it comes to sharia law, you know, to me, it's um, it's uh, it obviously involves terrorism, it involves a power that's not a healthy power," she said.

"I just think sharia law you get it mixed up ... if you're going to be a supporter of sharia law, and you're not going to support our constitution and an allegiance to our constitution and Australian law, then um ..."

Senator Lambie said she stood by her comments stating supporters of sharia had "no place in Australia."
