99 red balloons? It's nowhere near enough for one man's wife

WHAT a way to say happy birthday to your wife - 300  helium-filled balloons strung along the main street in Buderim!

The man behind the grand gesture is Mons resident Daniel Allen.

Mr Allen said he and his workmates started putting up the balloons at 3am today.

His wife Shaylea, who is 27 weeks pregnant, was impressed by the lovely display, which stretched along Burnett St.

The pair enjoyed breakfast at Gloria Jeans together, before Daniel had to go to work.

The balloons will be removed tonight so as not to affect the environment.
