Four feared dead in ferocious Victorian fires

Four people on Tuesday afternoon were still unaccounted for as emergency-level bushfires rage in Victoria.

About 4000 people flocked to a beach in Mallacoota in East Gippsland today, with some filming themselves jumping into boats to flee the town.

A father and son were confirmed dead in the NSW town of Cobargo, following news overnight that a firefighter was killed in a truck rollover near the NSW/Victoria border town of Albury.

Severe fire danger has also been forecast for Exmouth Gulf Coast and Gascoyne Coast in Western Australia to see out 2019.
