$2.5m Ballina park revitalisation under discussion

A MASTER plan for Ballina's Captain Cook Park, next to the Ballina RSL, will be discussed at the council's reserve trust manager meeting today.

The recommendation is for the council, acting as the Richmond River Reserve Trust, to adopt the landscape plan.

It would include a water play park, new public jetty, boardwalks, an ornamental garden, grassed plaza area with a performance stage, picnic shelters, barbecue facilities and new public toilets.

The council has estimated it could cost up to $2.5 million.
