Bowls day is a Quality fundraiser

THE Ballina Bowling and Recreation Club in Cherry Street will host the Camp Quality Bowls Social Challenge on Sunday, November 22.

THE Ballina Bowling and Recreation Club in Cherry Street will host the Camp Quality Bowls Social Challenge on Sunday, November 22.

It will be a day of fun, laughter and ‘fun therapy’ but will only succeed with community support, according to Leanne Shalders and Paul Ueberdiek, the Camp Quality Fundraising and Activity Leaders for the Northern Rivers.

Each year Camp Quality provide families and their children with a range of support including camps, educational support, financial support and respite, spending more than $124,000 annually on local families.

Camp Quality Northern Rivers has 31 families registered who are living with the effects of childhood cancer.

“At a cost of about $4000 per family, it is easy to see the need for community support,” Paul said.
