Former teacher on child porn charges
A FORMER teacher is facing child pornography charges after a bundle of sexually explicit magazines were found dumped at a private NSW school, police say.
Officers were called to the school at Lismore, in northern NSW, on January 23 this year after the magazines were found in a garbage bin.
"Police will allege the magazines contained sexually explicit images of children," police said in a statement.
A computer was seized from the school by detectives.
A few days later the Alstonville home of a 40-year-old man was raided with detectives seizing various computer equipment.
"Both computers were later scientifically examined and it is alleged an amount of child pornography was found on them," police said.
On Friday the man was charged with two counts of possessing child pornography.
He was granted bail and is due to face Sutherland Local Court on September 10.
