Weddings go all 50s glamour
WALKING down the aisle is like walking the red carpet for brides channelling the glamour of the 1950s.
"Lace is very big and might have something to do with Princess Kate," eVisualBridalBoutique designer and stylist Denise Orr said.
"They're still feeling that elegance.
"Emphasis is on elegance. Vintage is popular, particularly the '50s.
"People are looking at screen actresses like Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. Girls want to look glamorous."
Ms Orr said ivory was still a favourite for bridal gowns, although white was quite popular.
See some of eVisualBridalBoutique's designs at the annual It's my wedding bridal expo tomorrow from 10am-4pm at the Events Centre, Maroochy RSL.
Fashion parades are at 11.30am and 2.30pm.
