Thieves busy in Wilsonton
WILSONTON business owner David Gamble felt sick when he arrived at work yesterday and discovered thieves had broken into his business.
Three businesses in Production Crt were broken into overnight Sunday.
Mr Gamble, who owns Downs Doors, said thieves stole some cash and a work utility loaded with tools.
The dark grey 2003 Ford Falcon ute was parked in a shed at the time it was stolen.
Mr Gamble said the thieves also made a mess rummaging through the business.
"It makes you wild, especially when they do get caught and they get away scot-free," he said.
The offenders jemmied open a window to gain entry to the business.
Livewired Electrical owner Nick Payne said the front door to his business was jemmied open, causing the glass to shatter.
"They went through the place looking for cash despite the big sign on our door which states there is no cash on premises," Mr Payne said.
Thieves rummaged through the business but no property was stolen.
"They took nothing. It's just an inconvenience," Mr Payne said.
A third business in the same street was also broken into.
The stolen Ford Falcon one-tonne ute has Downs Doors signage on both doors.
Its registration number is 364 LOP.
Anyone with information about the break-ins or the location of the stolen ute is urged to phone Toowoomba Police on 4631 6333 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
