Nude beach run for tickets

A NUDE beach run and an underwater tea party are among the cheeky efforts from punters keen to secure a free ticket to the upcoming That Festival.

A competition run through the event's facebook fan page called for wannabe festival-goers to capture a creative image featuring the poster for the November 20 event.

An artistic photo of bike riders lying in the grass, a hitchhiker and a man thinking about That Festival were among entries to impress. Festival promoter Rossco Paddison yesterday was prepared to give each a double pass, and said there was a bigger competition on the horizon.

A couch will be made available on the side of the main stage for one lucky person and some friends to watch the headline bands.

Hannah Harrington and Belinda Brownlie, both 16, were inspired by fun memories of last year's event to take a dive into the cold water of a swimming pool in summer dresses.

Hannah said the idea of an underwater tea party hit the pair as they sat by the pool.

“It didn't take long to set up at all, but it took us ages to get the photo with the camera on timer,” she said.

“The water was freezing cold; so cold our feet went yellow.”

Katelyn George, 21 and sister Emily, from Cabarita, went running nude on the beach.

“We tried to think of what could be the wildest thing to do to get the tickets, and thought the craziest thing would be to take our clothes off,” Katelyn said.

Katelyn said there was no “lucky photographer” as they had used a tripod and camera on timer.

Going nude didn't really bother the pair.

“Most of the year we are on the beach in our bikinis, so it was not that much less, really.”
