THE body of a missing NSW teenager has been identified in Sydney's CBD.

On Friday, July 20, the body of a young man who appeared to have fallen from a building in Castlereagh St was taken to a Sydney morgue.

The night before, police on the Central Coast found 19-year-old Jacob Mamo's black Nissan Pulsar sedan abandoned on the F3 Freeway, just north of the Hawkesbury River Bridge.

His family reported him missing from his Chittaway home on Friday.

An extensive search of bushland and the river failed to find any trace of the teenager.

Police renewed their search on Monday night following reports he may have been picked up by a truck driver but late Tuesday detectives discovered it was Jacob who had been found in Sydney on Friday.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Anyone seeking information on suicide prevention can phone Lifeline on 13 11 14.
