Cool idea for a wedding
THE expression, "nice day for a white wedding" certainly applied to Tim Hynes and Jane Pearson's big day.
The Tamworth couple had planned an idyllic beach wedding in Coffs Harbour, but Mother Nature had other ideas.
"We really wanted a beach wedding but I kept checking the forecast and the rain just wasn't letting up," Jane said.
"We had the ceremony indoors at Aanuka but it was too wet for outdoor photographs."
Thinking on his feet, a friend of the couple contacted the Big Banana Ice Rink and organised a private hire for an hour.
"Half the bridesmaids had never been on the ice and neither had Tim but we gave it a go and had a lot of fun.
"I ended up trashing my dress but it was worth it, we certainly had a different wedding day, something we can laugh about now."
Tim and Jane honeymooned in Bali - where they enjoyed plenty of sunshine.
