EASTER WINNER: Marcus Aboody in action at Broken Head during the BK Memorial Easter Classic.

LENNOX Head’s Marcus Aboody was the winner of the open division of the 2010 BK Memorial Byron Easter Classic in good waves at Broken Head over the weekend.

Marcus has looked the goods over many years at this event and this time he ticked all the boxes.

Aboody came from behind late in the final to win over WQS surfer Yerin Brown from Byron Bay, ex top 44 pro surfer Danny Wills from Byron Bay and WQS ripper James Wood of Lennox Head.

Aboody has been fairly quiet in the contest scene lately but this win against such a quality field has shot him back into prominence in the competitive arena.

In a great showing for Ballina Shire surfers at the event, Wood scored the best wave award with a 10-point ride and also took out the best tube award.

Other Ballina Shire surfers made the finals, but full results have not been posted at this time.
