Last Test for Vodafone

ONE of the most successful and long-running partnerships in Australian sport is over.

Vodafone has called stumps on its support of Cricket Australia after 11 years.

This summer's Test series will be the last time the communications giant is involved with Test cricket in Australia for the foreseeable future.

Vodafone stepped into the breach when Ansett crashed on the eve of the 2001/02 Test season.

Cricket Australia executive general manager commercial Mike McKenna said the organisation would go to market for a new home-market Australian Test cricket team sponsor from 2013-14, with an Ashes summer as the launching pad for the new relationship.
