LABOR has enjoyed another bounce in the latest Newspoll.

The poll, published in The Australian, showed Labor's primary vote has grown to 32%, its highest level in three months and a 2% increase in the past fortnight.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott's relentless campaign against Craig Thomson appears to have backfired, with Prime Minister Julia Gillard overtaking him as preferred prime minister 40%-37%.

But the Coalition still holds a commanding two-party-preferred lead over the government, 54-46%.
