Gun dealer had weapons licence suspended

A GUN dealer in country NSW has been stripped of more than 1400 weapons after failing to pass a licensing audit.

Police seized the firearms, including a number of hand guns, rifles and more than four tonne of ammunition from a property at Oberon, near Bathurst, late Thursday.

A 64-year-old firearms dealer had his licence suspended but was released without charge.

Investigations are continuing into the number of weapons, their registration, origin and ownership.
